I’ll try to keep it simple but take this day as a reminder to say no sometimes, that people don’t really care about how you walk, you can afford to have a day in bed, medications aren’t scary and isn’t the “easy way”, no - exercise doesn’t cure anything, it’s not just feeling bummed out, your voice sounds fine, the waitress doesn’t think you sounded weird, your grades or place in life doesn’t define who you are, buy that plane ticket, if you don’t know what brings you happiness, that’s ok, have the fries but have some salad too later for your health, no one really has their shit together, don’t be scared of vulnerability - it makes you that much stronger later on, go to therapy, unfollow people that makes you doubt yourself, delete his number, breathe in between moments, you can prioritize yourself and that doesn’t mean you’re selfish, your past built who you are today but not tomorrow,
Crazy doesn’t begin to properly describe the complexity of mental health.
Things will get better. I promise.
If you want to chat, DM/text me and I’ll be there for you.
2018 - 3 hrs of therapy every week, learned how to sing, extreme vulnerabilities were exposed, broke hearts, got 3 tattoos, graduated university, set firmer boundaries and goals, travelled to 11 countries, met incredible people, spent the last hour of the year at the harbour with a dear friend.
2019 - had McDonald’s for munchies and woke up at noon.
Hope you all have a beautiful 2019. Be kind and don’t let the weight of the past pull down your present, for your future will grow stronger without burdened roots.
